Category Two LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the LOKI application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication data through our identity provider (Clerk). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the profile information you authorize.
Pet Information
You provide information about your pets including: name, species, breed, birth date, weight, sex, spay/neuter status, microchip number, photos, and any notes you add.
Health Data
LOKI collects health-related information you enter including: daily check-ins (mood, appetite, energy levels), symptoms and observations, medications and dosages, veterinary records you upload, photos of your pet for health monitoring, weight measurements, and food intake logs.
Usage Data
We automatically collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, features used, and general geographic region (country level). We do NOT use cookies for tracking. Our analytics creates an anonymized hash from your IP address and browser information that cannot identify you personally.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the LOKI service
- Analyze your pet's health patterns and provide AI-powered insights
- Generate health reports for your veterinarian
- Send you notifications and reminders you've requested
- Improve and personalize the service
- Respond to your support requests
AI Processing
Your pet's health data is processed by artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) to provide health insights, pattern detection, and recommendations. This processing happens in real-time when you use the chat feature or request analysis. Your data is not used to train AI models.
How LOKI Learns — Anonymized Data
To improve LOKI for all users, we analyze anonymized, aggregated patterns from health data across our user base. This helps us build better pattern detection, earlier anomaly alerts, and more accurate health insights for every pet.
What we use (anonymized and aggregated only):
- Health check-in patterns (e.g., appetite trends across breeds)
- Symptom correlations (e.g., which symptom combinations most often precede vet visits)
- De-identified photo analysis patterns (e.g., what visual changes correlate with health issues)
- General usage patterns to improve the product experience
What we never use:
- Your name, email, or any personally identifiable information
- Your pet's name or any details that could identify a specific pet
- Your conversations with LOKI
- Your photos in their original form
- Any data linked back to your account
All anonymization is performed before any data leaves your account context. The anonymized data cannot be reversed or re-identified. You can opt out of anonymized data contribution at any time in your account settings without any impact to your LOKI experience.
3. Information Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
Service Providers
We use third-party services to operate LOKI including Clerk (authentication), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Anthropic (AI processing). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Your Veterinarian
When you generate and share a health report, you control what information is included and who receives it.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time through the app settings, which will permanently delete all your data including:
- Your account profile
- All pet profiles
- All check-ins and health observations
- All photos
- All conversations with LOKI
- All generated reports
Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes but cannot be linked back to you.
5. Your Rights
All Users
You have the right to:
- Access your data through the app
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
European Economic Area (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, you additionally have the right to:
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Request restriction of processing
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Our legal basis for processing is your consent (for health data) and contract performance (for account data).
California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected
- Know whether personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom
- Say no to the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Access your personal information
- Request deletion of your information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Secure authentication through Clerk
- Access controls limiting who can view data
- Regular security reviews
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
LOKI is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States where our servers are located. If you are in the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of LOKI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
